Benefit for the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center and Gary Ball

There will be a benefit event for the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center and Gary Ball featuring music, a silent auction, delicious snacks, and wonderful company on Saturday, October 18, at 7 pm at the Boulder Friends Meeting, 1825 Upland, in Boulder.

We are pleased to have singer/songwriter Joe Jencks performing at 8pm, with local musicians (including Gary!), playing before and after.

For those unfamiliar with Joe's work, please note: "The next time someone says that folk music has lost its conscience, lacks great protest songs, or has lost its connection with its causes, I will sit them down and play Joe Jencks' CD, I Hear Your Voice. Jencks sings with a superb tenor voice, and picks flashy guitar… that doesn't obscure the beauty of his voice or the words of his well-crafted songs." -Sing Out! Magazine, Rich Warren "Host of 'The Midnight Special' WFMT "FM Chicago, IL

The Peace and Justice Center has served the community for over 20 years and counts on community donations and events to keep working.  Betty Ball, long time RMPJC staff member, and her husband Gary are adding fighting cancer to their long history of fighting for peace, justice and the environment, and we invite all those who support these issues, the Peace Center, and the life-long activists such as the Balls to come to this event to have fun, make music and raise funds to supplement their health insurance and activists' salaries.

If you have any goods or services you would like to donate, for a partial tax deduction if that is useful, please contact Judith Mohling at 303 447 9635, or judith@xbalanque.net.  You can also bring quality goods or offers of services to the event, but if possible, advance notice is preferable.  Please feel free to pass this notice around to any lists or circles you might have, and if you would like to help in any other way at the event, please contact Chris Friedman at 720 938 3076 or chris@erity.net.
